Barrett Xplore Expands Rural Wireless

Barrett Xplore Inc. (BXI), Canada's largest rural broadband provider, recently announced that they have purchased two wireless networks in Prince Edward County and South Dundas in south western Ontario from W3 Connex.
The networks previously owned and maintained by W3 Connex supply broadband Internet service to over 550 residential and business customers in the area.
The acquisition by BXI will now strengthen them as one of Canada's leading fixed wireless and satellite broadband service provider for rural and underserved markets.
BXI's long term goal is to ensure that every Canadian has access to real broadband that will enable them to compete effectively in the global economy.
John Maduri, CEO of Barrett Xplore Inc., is excited to welcome W3's customers into BXI's family.
"We look forward to delivering to our new customers the same high-quality, urban-class services that we currently deliver to more than 400 rural communities across Canada," said Maduri. "The recent acquisition of 3.5 GHz WiMAX spectrum will help us to improve service and reliability for our new W3 Connex customers."
