WireIE Goes Green with Carbonzero

Looking to tone down the negative effects of carbon emissions, WireIE Holdings International has paired up with Carbonzero in order to reduce their footprint through offsets.
"This alliance allows telecoms to realize a significant financial benefit, while reducing emissions," said Robert Barlow, president and CEO of WireIE.
Both companies are based in Ontario - WireIE of Richmond Hill and Carbonzero of Toronto - and make this announcement at a time when green initiatives are on everybody's mind thanks to the environmentally-focused election campaign taking place.
In fact, Carbonzero is also the company that was most recently selected to offset the Liberal party of Canada's emissions over the duration of their campaign, all while the Liberals are attempting to promote their Green Shift plan which would encourage the offsetting of emissions.
Offsets are made in order to minimize the negative effects of carbon dioxide emissions and the emissions of other harmful gases. Although they do not put a stop to the production of these gases, offsets will attempt to balance out an equivalent amount of emissions through projects such as retrofitting an environmentally unsound building, providing a source of green energy such as wind or solar, or by reducing the consumption of fossil fuels.
So while WireIE may not be producing less emissions themselves, through partnering with Carbonzero they will be reducing the damage done on the environment through other means.
"WireIE's technology will bring a regular stream of offset inventory to Carbonzero to sell, and give telecoms the tools for quantifying, managing, and reducing their greenhouse gases," said Kate Holloway, CEO of Carbonzero.
