Gigabyte Unveils Ultra-Durable (3) Motherboards

Keeping ahead of the game in the tech industry not only means having superior products, but also ensuring that those products are durable enough to give the customer the long lifespan that they expect out of today's hardware.
To that end, Gigabyte's latest motherboards are taking a leap forward with their new "Durable 3" motherboard technology, which offers longer lifespans, enhanced DDR2 support, and more copper.
The fact that the Durable 3 motherboards have more copper -twice as much as competing boards, in fact - means that Gigabyte is able to offer a more effective cooling solution, spreading heat across the unit and away from areas such as the CPU power zone.
In fact, Gigabyte claims that these motherboards will run up to 50 degrees C cooler than traditional motherboards. Having two ounces of copper compared with the single ounce traditionally used in most motherboards also means that there is less electrical waste, which also contributes to heat reduction.
With the improved signal quality that this provides, along with lowered temperatures, overclocking potential is greatly improved. The fact that up to 1,366 MHz DDR2 memory is supported is also a bonus for those users wanting to run more intense applications.
The new motherboards will also feature the latest in Japanese solid capacitors, featuring an average lifespan of 50,000 hours.
