Globalive Opens Up for Suggestions

Imagine being able to tell your wireless telephone service provider what you wanted in a company before you signed up, and actually have them listen. That's what Globalive Wireless Management Corp is letting you do.
Globalive has set up a website (http://www.wirelesssoapbox.com/) that allows would-be customers to share their thoughts, opinions, and ideas about wireless service. The company hopes to be the next major wireless provider and is interested to hear how they can achieve this.
Anthony Lacavera, chairman and chief executive officer of Globalive Communications corp.(an affiliate of Globalive Wireless) believes that the best way to win over a customers loyalty is to give them what they want.
"We are going to give Canadians the best wireless service in the country," says Lacavera. "We're exploring their likes, dislikes and, basically, what they want to see from Canada's next wireless provider."
Globalive wants to hear from Canadians about what they want their monthly plan to include and what they don't like about their current bill. Anyone with ideas on network design or wireless vendors is welcome to give suggestions as well.
Not only will Lacavera look through the suggestions and take them into account, he will also be an active poster in the forums. The site will include a blog, surveys, and quick polls.
Globalive Wireless Management Corp. was declared a provisional winner of sufficient spectrum to build a new wireless network in Canada, with the exception of Quebec. They earned this right through Industry Canada's wireless spectrum auction in May of this year.
The auction was sanctioned by the federal government to increase competition in Canada's wireless market due to the high prices, fewer services and low subscribership of the Canadian market.
On average Canadians pay 60 per cent more for mobile wireless services than Americans according to the Telecommunications Policy Review Panel (Final Report, March 22, 2006).
