Website to Draw Youth to Human Rights

The Canadian Association of Statutory Human Rights Agencies (CASHRA) has a new interactive tool to help youth learn more about human rights issues that affect all Canadians and it is known as the interactive youth website.
In commemorating the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the interactive youth website was designed by CASHRA to target Canadians ranging from 18 to 35 years of age.
Mary Pat Short, president of CASHRA, hopes that the website will feed the Canadian youth with knowledge, and fuel their passion and commitment.
"The ideal of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is a light for all people," said Short. "Human rights activists are the sparks that keep the torch of that ideal burning. How brightly that light burns in the future depends on today's youth, with their talent, creativity, intelligence and optimism."
The interactive youth website is not just about human rights issues and legislative frameworks enforcing human rights. The website also includes tips for youth to participate in promoting and protecting human rights.
Other interactive features on the website include discussion boards, an online art galley and calls to action for various causes.
