NetFlix Releases Direct-To-TV Downloads

NetFlix is once again looking to revolutionize the way we rent videos, but this time they’re doing it completely online. The world’s largest online movie rental service has teamed up with Roku to develop a device that allows users to stream movies and shows directly to their TV.
It immediately allows for access to a growing database that already has 10,000 selections. The device is about the size of a paperback book and quickly integrates into most home theatre systems. All it takes is a broadband or wireless connection.
The CEO and Founder of Roku hails it as a breakthrough in combing media platforms. "The seamless integration of the Netflix service into our player has resulted in true ease of use for the consumer. Now, streaming video isn't limited to people sitting in front of the PC; it's ready for the TV in the living room," he says.
Users simply add movies and TV shows to their individual queues, these choices are then displayed on the TV and ready to watch instantly. The box comes with its own remote control, so subscribers have the option of fast-forward and rewind. They can also rate films and read synopsis.
The package will set you back $99. But, it’s not a bad choice, considering that it’s a one time purchase and you’ll never have to worry about late fees or lost video penalties.
