TV’s Slimmest is a Samsung

As if two inches wide couldn't be thin enough, Samsung Electronics Canada launched their newest and thinnest LCD HDTV to date. At half the width of a conventional flat-panel television, the HDTV Samsung series 8-850 is only 1.9 inches in depth.
Robert Gumiela, who is the senior marketing manager for consumer electronics at Samsung Electronics Canada, wants to offer his consumers new products that will enhance their television viewing experience.
“While providing exceptional picture quality is always out top priority, Samsung is also focused on creating technology that fits with the design of the home,” said Gumiela.
The Samsung 850 sports an ultra clear panel, which is designed to improve contrast ratios and should produce deep black levels regardless of the rooms lighting conditions. When watching fast-paced content, buyers can enjoy a smoother visual experience making the 850 series ideal for die-hard sports fans along with avid gamers.
The Samsung Series 8 LCD HDTVs will be available in September and will be offering consumers their preference between the 46 and 52-inch size screen. The price tag for the 46 inch screen will start at $3,199.99 while the 52 inch screen will go for $3,799.99.
